MON 8-29

Warm-up:
CNN Student News - new sheet for the week

Lesson/Assignment:

  • Students participated in a simulation of the Stamp Act that led to the Revolutionary War.
  • There was an "elected" king, tax collectors, and colonists, who were taxed M&M's for the king's profit for qualities or characteristics possessed by individual students such as...hair color, siblings, articles of clothing, materials possessed, etc.
  • The king ended up with most of their M&M's, and the "colonists" grew quite irate at the injustice :)
  • Students completed a reading and reflection at the end to learn why colonists began to rebel and protest the British royalty.

Homework:Finish reading/questions; answer in complete sentences.
